The name “Hanover Square” honors a pivotal moment in American history when intellectual prowess (in the form of John Adams) joined forces with revolutionary spirit (represented by the Sons of Liberty) to bring about change for the greater good. In 1766, John Adams and the Sons of Liberty gathered in a small room at Hanover Square in Boston to strategize a response to Britain’s growing oppression. What took place there was more than a meeting. It was the coming together of conviction, dialogue, and the courage to act.
Outside stood the Liberty Tree, a lasting symbol of unity, courage, and the belief that meaningful change begins when people are willing to challenge the status quo in service of something better.
That spirit of thoughtful leadership and decisive action continues to influence how we serve families today.
Hanover Square Wealth Advisors was built on the belief that families deserve more than scattered advice or passive wealth management. They deserve a trusted sounding board, a place where complex questions can be met with thoughtful perspective, clear direction, and decisive leadership.
Our independence reflects that philosophy. We hold fast to the principles that serve our clients while rethinking the conventions that do not. We value wisdom and innovation, clarity and curiosity, long-term discipline and forward-looking planning. We believe wealth should not simply be preserved. It should be used intentionally to support the people, opportunities, and life that matter most.
Like the spirit that inspired our name, we believe the best outcomes come from combining thoughtful conversation with meaningful action. That is what guides our advice, our relationships, and the way we help families step into what’s possible.
